The Hawk Card enables students to access four separate accounts: Hawk Cash, Dining Plan, Add-On Dining Dollars, and Dining Dollars. Each account must be funded prior to use and has unique rules for acceptance and the roll over of funds (see the summary chart below).
Hawk Cash is a prepaid spending account offering a safe and convenient way to make purchases on and off campus. It is designed to eliminate the need to carry cash. You or your parents must make a deposit to Hawk Cash prior to using it for purchases. Value in Hawk Cash rolls over every semester and year for as long as you are a member of the Saint Joseph’s University Community.
All resident students are entitled to meal access at the Campion Dining Hall or other dining locations plus Dining Dollars. Students living in on-campus housing or off campus may choose to purchase a voluntary dining plan with a guaranteed number of meals per week or semester plus Dining Dollars.
All students with a dining plan have meal access at the Campion Dining Hall plus Dining Dollars for use at Campion Food Court, P.O.D. Market, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Starbucks, P.O.D. Express in Bellarmine Hall, P.O.D. Express in Mandeville Hall, and P.O.D. Express in the Post Learning Commons each semester. Dining Dollars are included on your dining plan and roll over from semester to semester, but not year to year.
Add-On Dining Dollars is a prepaid spending account that can be used at any on-campus dining locations such as Campion Food Court, P.O.D. Markets, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Starbucks, P.O.D. Express in Bellarmine Hall, P.O.D. Express in Mandeville Hall, and P.O.D. Express in the Post Learning Commons. Value must be added into the Add-On Dining Dollars and rolls over every semester and year.
